TEEG – National LED Installation Partner for Timezone, Kingpin and Zone Bowling

Scope

In October 2024 TEEG – the group behind Timezone, Kingpin and Zone Bowling – came to Cove Technologies through the Covetech website looking for a national LED installation partner. They had a job at Kingpin Crown in Melbourne, roughly 21 square metres of LED already purchased, and a schedule that started in the first week of November.

That first job was install only. TEEG supplied the panels; Cove supplied the labour, the licences and the judgement. The screens were an entrance archway plus three multi-sided kiosks.

The shipment arrived with a video processor but no media player – the assumption had been that the processor would play the content, which it does not. Cove commissioned the controller, resolved receiving-card faults on the vertical panels, supplied a media player and used its own equipment to bring the site live on the night. Cove then set up the content management system and trained the venue team to run it.

The site went live on 15 November 2024, on schedule.

Outcome

TEEG came back for Zone Bowling and Timezone Southland, then Knox – and this time asked Cove to supply the screens as well as install them. At Knox the original shopfront design would not physically carry the product, so Cove worked the redesign through with the client’s designers and the construction team rather than handing the problem back.

The relationship has since taken in Palmerston North and Rotorua in New Zealand, and Erina and Bankstown in New South Wales. Newmarket in Auckland has been awarded. That is eight sites across four jurisdictions, all of it from one enquiry through the website.

What made it work was accountability sitting in one place. TEEG already owned the hardware. What they did not have was a single company that could do the electrical, the data, the structural and the commissioning, and answer for all of it.

This project shows how a national venue operator can hand an LED rollout – supplied or install-only – to one licensed partner and hold every site to the same standard.
